Five Things to Say to Your Adult Children

I came across the 2016 post, Five Things to Say to Your Adult Children, and it made me smile.

Nothing Seems to Change

Parents are still exhibiting some of the same characteristics as they did when this article was first written. You’d think as adult children have children of their own, they’d remember what they wanted from their own parents.

Points to remember

While the article goes into depth on each point, here are the highlights on things to say to your adult children :

  1. “I’m proud of you and love you unconditionally.”
  2. “Ask for wisdom or counsel, but don’t ask for permission.”
  3. “I am always praying God’s best for your life.”
  4. “I’m always here for you.”
  5. “Please be patient. God’s not finished with me yet.”

Parenting never stops, but how we approach it changes over the years. Keep in mind these five things to say to adult children and it will save everyone in your family frustration and heartache.
