Living in Peace

It’s not so easy, living in peace these days. Especially when you look at social media or the evening news and see all the divisiveness around. It doesn’t even matter, really, what the topic is. Religion. Politics. Education. Those are the biggies.

The list keeps growing

But there’s more. How to raise your children. Where to live. Even citing the best ice cream can cause a fallout. Let’s face it. All we’re talking about is opinions. Informed or ill-informed, they’re opinions, nonetheless.

And you know what the saying is about opinions …

This isn’t what we’re to do.

If we stop focusing on being right, then we may be able to understand how others live in their world. If we knew what they knew … if our life experiences were the same as theirs … maybe we’d feel the same way.

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14

So …

So let’s listen–really listen–to one another and allow for the differences. When we do, we may be surprised. We may find we’re more alike than we first thought.

(And for the record, I have no favorite ice cream. They’re all heavenly!)

What say you?

What do you wonder about?  Are you happy … or are you doing what you never thought you’d do? Do you see consistencies … or are you all over the place? Drop me a line. I’d love to chat.
